Gary E. VanTilburg

Gary E. VanTilburg, 66, of 1209 Indiana Ave., St. Marys, died at 4:37 p.m., in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, of natural causes.

He was born July 20, 1941, in Mercer County, a son of Paul E. and Ethel J. (Behm) VanTilburg, and they preceded him in death.

On Aug. 7, 1965, he married Mary E. (McDonough) VanTilburg, and she preceded him in death on March 9, 2005.

He is survived by three children, Gregory E. (Jenny) VanTilburg of St. Marys, Amy Joann (Jeffery) DeGeorge of Georgia, and Terry L. (Kim) VanTilburg of Florida; a half brother, Jerry D. VanTilburg of Lima; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry L. VanTilburg.

He retired from Huffy's after 21 years of employment.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys, with the Rev. Emil Shuwey CPPS officiating. The body will be cremated.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, at Cisco Funeral Home in St. Marys.

IN MEMORY OF:
Loyell Shellabarger

Loyell Shellabarger, 84, 107 Portland St., Celina, died at 5 a.m. Nov. 9, 2007, at Colonial Nursing Home, Rockford.

He was born Aug. 2, 1923, in Montgomery County to Raymond and Arkana Crouch Shellabarger. On June 2, 1951, he married Evelyn Wagner, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Curt (Deb), Celina, and Todd (Mary) St. Marys; two brothers, Stan (Louise), Rockford, and Wayne (Martha), Mendon; two sisters, Frances (Frank) Stoner, Celina, and Vivan Hodge, Celina; and four grandchildren.

Deceased are a brother, John, and a sister, Evelyn Spees.

He was retired from Goodyear and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Celina Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, as well as the Mercer County Sportsmans.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Richard VanHorn officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery.

IN MEMORY OF:
Monica C. Springer

Monica C. Springer, 20, 624 N. Mill, Celina, died at 4:52 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007,  at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus of natural causes. She was born Dec. 26, 1986, in Coldwater, a daughter of Robert and Barbara Fields Springer, and they reside in Celina.

She is also survived by a son, Elliot Scott Springer of  Celina; grandparents, Donald and Dorothy Springer of Celina; a brother, Nicholas Springer of Celina; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by a grandmother, Chrstine Fields; and an uncle.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, with the Revs. Mark Wakeland and Jason Springer officiating.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., and from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.

IN MEMORY OF:
Esther L. Granger

Esther L. Granger, 76, 1670 state Route 29, Wabash, died August 7, 2007, at her residence.

She was born April 13, 1932, in Lynn, Ind., to Vern and Mildred Leason Leonard. On Nov. 21, 1964, she married David Granger, who survives.

Other survivors are a son, Bruce (Roberta), Hinsdale, Ill.; three daughters, Kathryn (Gerald) Oliver, Downers Grove, Ill., Connie (Jerry) McRill, Seven Fields, Pa., and Carolyn (Don) Fitzsimons, Olathe, Kan.; five brothers, James Leonard, Woodbridge, Va., Walter (Karen) Leonard, Spring Hill, Fla., Tom (Jane) Leonard, Lockport, Ill.; Russell (Judy) Leonard, Renton, Wash., and Joe (Rita) Leonard, Fremont, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was a retired Celina City Schools bus driver and a homemaker. She was a member of the Celina Church of the Nazarene and had attended Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Larry Hamilton officiating. Burial is at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery.

Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

IN MEMORY OF:
Gordon J. Leistner

Gordon J. Leistner, 76, of 6449 Hasis Road, Celina, died at 1:50 a.m., Aug. 6, 2007, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. He was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Chattanooga, a son of John and Grace Nash Leistner.

On July 28, 1951, he married Bonnie Huber, and she survives in Celina.

He is also survived by two daughters, Kathy  (Scott) Long of Van Wert, and Lois Leistner of Elk City, Okla.; and a son, Randy (Val) Leistner of Celina; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.

He served in the U.S. Army two years.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at New Horizon Church in Rockford, with the Revs. Robert Loar and Mark Rutledge officiating. Burial will follow at Kessler Cemetery in Rockford.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., and from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
