Hager Funeral Home provides a wide selection of caskets to meet the individual needs of each family that we serve.
Caskets are constructed primarily of two materials, metals and woods. The finest metals are constructed of bronze.
Following bronze in quality is copper, then stainless steel and regular steel. Regular steel caskets are further broken
down into gauges: 16, 18 or 20 gauge. 16 gauge is the heaviest and thickest, while 20 gauge is the lightest. Wooden
caskets are constructed different woods, such as Mahogany, Cherry, Oak, Walnut, and Poplar. The wooden caskets are non-protective
caskets, meaning that they do not seal, as it is not a property of wood to seal. The majority of metal caskets
do seal.
We also offer a variety of outer burial containers and burial vaults. These vaults are of heavy concrete construction.
Although not required by law, most cemeteries require the use of a burial vault.
