IN MEMORY OF
John William "Bill" Fullinwider

Mr. John William "Bill" Fullinwider, 98, of Brandenburg, KY died Monday, July 21, 2014.  He was a farmer and a retired utility operator for Olin Chemical.  Mr. Fullinwider was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine King Fullinwider, and two sisters.  He is survived by three children, Bob and Jim (Midge) Fullinwider and Fran Wollenman, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.  Funeral services to honor Bill's life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday from St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.  Burial will be in St. George Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Hager Funeral Home from 3 until 8 PM Friday and after 9 AM Saturday.

Robert Leroy Richardson

Mr. Robert Leroy Richardson, 81, of Brandenburg, KY passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at his residence.  He  was an Army veteran, a member of the Home Builders Association of Elizabethtown, and owned Richardson's Painting from 1977 until 2007.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, a daughter, Brenda Sue Turner, 2 brothers, William and Johnny Richardson and his parents, William and Marion Swab Richardson.  He is survived by  5 children, Patty (Rodney) Bullock, Shepherdsville, KY, Mary Ann (Fred) McLemore, Billy Richardson, Brandenburg, KY, Linda (Tony) House, Ashford, AL, and Charles Richardson, Brandenburg, KY, 1 brother, Douglas (Gail) Richardson, Altoona, PA, 10 Grandchildren and 15 Great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday from the Chapel of the Hager Funeral Home with Rev. Les Bullock, officiating.  Burial will be in Garnettsville Cemetery with full military honors.  Visitation will be from 3 until 8 PM Thursday and after 9 AM Friday at the funeral home.

William Scott Saunders

Mr. William Scott Saunders, 64, of Ekron, KY passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at his residence.  He was an animal lover, loved to work, and owned A/C Doctor Heating and Cooling.

Mr. Saunders was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Belle Hunter Provow.  He is survived by his wife, Debbie Saunders, 2 Brothers, Michael (Karen) Ingram, Clarksburg, WV and Larry (Cathy) Ingram, Hopesmill, NC, his mother in law, Allison Clair, Brandenburg, KY, a sister in law, Sally Clair, Brandenburg, KY and a brother in law, Frank Clair, Custer, KY.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2014 in the Chapel of Hager Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Bridge officiating.  Visitation will be from 4 until the time of service at 7.  

Expressions of sympathy may be donations to Pets in Need Society or Hosparus of Central Kentucky.

Anna Frances Snelling Dowell

Mrs. Anna Frances Snelling Dowell, age 81, of Guston, KY, departed this life on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at her home, with her family by her side.  She was born on September 2, 1932, the daughter of Alfonza and Pauline Whitworth Snelling.  Mrs. Dowell was a member of Hill Grove Baptist Church.  She was a full time housewife while working on the farm, and also worked for 12 years at Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company and General Electric until she retired.

Mrs. Dowell was preceded in death by her parents; and a great granddaughter, Sarah Paige Smith.  She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard B. Dowell, Jr.; five children, Richard F. (Sandy) Dowell, Betty Dowell (Harry) Prather, both of Ekron, KY, Martha "Janie" Dowell McAfee, mary Dowell Ledford, both of Stith Valley, KY, and Dorothy Dowell (Elroy) Ray, Flaherty, KY; ten grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, from the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Terry Carby, officiating.  Burial will follow in Buck Grove Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be her grandsons.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3-8 PM on Wednesday and after 8:00 AM on Thursday.

Betty Ann Arnold Allen

Mrs. Betty Ann Arnold Allen, age 70, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at her residence.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and sister, who loved to talk on the telephone and do word puzzles.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Eugene and Mary Nina Payne Arnold; and her husband, Darold Dean Allen.  She is survived by three children, Roger Wayne (Ailene) Allen, Jackie Dean Allen, both of Brandenburg, KY, and Beverly Ann (Richard) Coyne, Rineyville, KY; four grandchildren, Jeremy Wayne Allen, Christopher Michael Coyne, Shane Michael Coyne and Alfred Gonzales; two great granddaughters, Lilly-Ann Campbell and Faith Coyne; two sisters, Mary Lea (Virgil) Hayes, LaGrange, KY, Bonnie J. Arnold Russelburg, Brandenburg, KY; and four brothers, Robert Thomas "Bobby" Arnold, Larry Wayne (Debbie) Arnold, Joseph Leon "Jody" (Joy) Arnold, all of Payneville, KY, James Garland "Jimmy" (Janet) Arnold, Ekron, KY; and several nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday from the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Leon Chambers, officiating.  Burial will follow in Cap Anderson Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 3-8 PM on Friday and after 9:00 AM on Saturday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hosparus of Central Kentucky, P.O. Merle Anthony "Andy" Carroll

Mr. Merle Anthony "Andy" Carroll, 49, of Ekron, KY passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in an accident on Dixie Highway in Louisville, KY.  He was an operator for Marathon-Ashland and a member of the CORE motorcycle group.  Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife, Rosie Carroll, two children, Nicole Carroll and Matthew Wise, Vine Grove, KY, two grandsons, Eli Carroll and William Wise, his mother in law, Vicki Polston, one sister, Donna Patterson, Elizabethtown, KY, two brothers, Donald Taylor, Vine Grove, KY and Tooter Carroll, North Carolina.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday from the Chapel of the Hager Funeral Home with burial in Ekron Full Gospel Cemetery.  Visitation at the funeral home will be from 5 until 8 PM Saturday and after 9 AM Sunday.  Expressions of sympathy may be donations to the American Cancer Society.

John Bernard "Bernie" Pike

Mr. John Bernard "Bernie" Pike, 58, of Andyville, KY passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the residence of his brother.  He was born November 28, 1955 in Hardin County, KY to the late Henry Edwin "Tater" and Mona Lou Miller Pike.

Mr. Pike, a lifelong farmer; was retired from the State Highway Department in Meade County as Assistant Foreman, where he loved running heavy equipment, and, as his son said, especially plowing snow; he was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church; a charter member of Lincoln Trail Antique Power of the Past; and the Meade County Cattleman's Association.  In 2008 he, along with his brother Ed were named Master Conservationist.  He enjoyed collecting and working with David Bradley and John Deere Equipment.

Mr. Pike is survived by two wonderful children, Tara Elizabeth Pike, Shelbyville, KY and William Jonathan Pike, Brandenburg, KY; four loving granddaughters, Katie Jo Goodman, Shelbyville, KY, TammyLee Michelle Pike, Logan Rachel Compton and Madison Elizabeth Compton, Brandenburg, KY; four brothers, Edwin "Edd" (Mary) Pike, Ronald Earl "Ronnie" (Jill) Pike, David Harold (Teresa) Pike and Leslie Richard (Angela) Pike; two sisters, Monica Anne (Gary) Lytle and Andrea Lea (Greg) Pike-Goff; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Alec G. Stone, Bobby Stith, Cheryl Brooks and Kelly McMahan-Pike.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 11, 2014, at St. Theresa Catholic Church, with Rev. Robert Abel, officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Knott, Elizabeth Davis, Pat Greenwell, Peggy Haynes, Mike Hartley, Wayne Johnston, Ed Brown and Dale Martin.  Active Pallbearers will be Jerry Shacklett, Joey Pike, Tommy Pike, Wade Pike, Adam Pike, and Ian Pettit.  Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg, from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 PM on Thursday, and after 9:00 AM on Friday.  A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Lincoln Trail Antique Power of the Past, P.O. Rev. E.E. Dutschke

Rev. E.E. Dutschke, 80, passed away Friday, July 04, 2014 at his residence.  He was a pastor for almost 50 years and a member of Laborers International Union of North America.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ruth Dutschke.

He is survived by two children, Connie Martin and her husband, Paul; Eddie Dutschke and his wife Laura, both of Webster, KY; six grandchildren, Jason and Chris Graham, Joey, all of Webster, KY, Amy Sean and Bridget Martin, all of Massachusetts; 3 Great-grandchildren, Maddox, Neila and Nora Martin and two brothers, Kenneth Dutschke and his wife Sherry and Randall Dutschke and his wife Beverly.  Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday from the Chapel of the Hager Funeral Home with Pastor Lida Bain, officiating.

Burial will be in Raymond Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11 AM until 8 PM Saturday, and after 11 AM Sunday.

Mrs. Thelma B. Clarkson, 81, of Vine Grove, KY passed away Thursday, July 3, 2014 at University of Louisville Hospital, Louisville, KY.  She was preceded in death by a son, Bob Clarkson and a grandson Ernie Allen.

Mrs. Bonnie Louise Higgins Clendenin, age 81, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, in Elizabethtown, KY.  Mrs. Clendenin was a member of the Doe Valley Fishing and Boating Club and thoroughly enjoyed her Thursday Bunco group.

Mrs. Clendenin was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Clendenin; and a sister, Ella Cannella.  She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Kenneth Earl Clendenin, Brandenburg, KY; five children, Stephen (Donna) Clendenin, New Baden, IL, Pamela (Martin) Bosemer, Stephanie (Neal) Hardin, both of Brandenburg, KY, Kendra (David) Jones, Colorado Springs, CO, Jeffrey (Lynn) Clendenin, Shiloh, IL; 12 grandchildren, Brek, Natalie, Kamela, Fonda, Keri, Billy, Amber, Caitlin, Brynna, Gregg, Asa and Kenna; 13 great grandchildren, Kell, Chloe, Christopher, Fonda, Anthony, Emilee, Lynnzie, Kaden, Bralen, Christian, Chase, Kaylana and William; and two brothers, Dick Moore and Charles Higgins.

Larry D. Singleton, Jr.

Mr. Larry D. Singleton, Jr., age 46, of Elizabethtown, KY, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at his residence.  Larry was a facility engineering supervisor for Kroger; an avid fisherman; and loved riding his RZR.  His positive attitude and strength through his long battle with cancer allowed him to live his life to the fullest.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Larry D. Singleton, Sr.; a sister, Sheila Singleton; his mother and father-in-law, Alma and Carl Mattingly; and his grandfather, Roy Lee Humphrey.  He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Karen Singleton, Elizabethtown, KY; two daughters, Brittany (Zach) Faulkner, Sarah Singleton, both of Elizabethtown, KY; his mother, Sue Singleton, Brandenburg, KY; two brothers, Robert (Shannon) Singleton, Scotty (Susan) Singleton, both of Brandenburg, KY, two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Matthew Faulkner; and his grandmother, Nancy Humphrey, Battletown, KY.

Charles Sherley "Charlie" Briggs

Mr. Charles Sherley "Charlie" Briggs, age 69, of Muldraugh, KY, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at his residence.  Mr. Briggs was retired from the U.S. Army; a member of the Muldraugh Lions Club; many year President of the Muldraugh School PTO; was a member of the FRC Board; was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Sikeston, MO, but had attended Muldraugh Baptist Church for many years; and had coached youth basketball, soccer, baseball and girls softball for many years.

Mr. Briggs was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Norma Briggs; four brothers, Fred, David, Jerry Glenn and Billie Jean Briggs; and a sister, Juanita Stallings.  He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Katherine "Kay" Briggs, Muldraugh, KY; two daughters, Caprecia Briggs, Muldraugh, KY, Alissa Salyers, Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Mackenzie, John and Haylie Price, all of Muldraugh, KY; two brothers, Lonnie (Ruth) Briggs, Whitewater, MO, Dennie Briggs, Austin, AR; three sisters, Tina (Bill) Ergle, Davenport, IA, Bernita Briggs, Essex, MO, Peggy Keith, Lowmoor, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, from the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. David Sullivan, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, in Radcliff, KY, with military honors.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-8 PM on Saturday, 12:00 Noon- 8 PM on Sunday and after 9:00 AM on Monday.

Miller, all of Brandenburg, KY; four grandchildren, Aaliyah, Jesse, Abigail, Aasiyah; his parents, Carl and Liz Miller, Brandenburg, KY; two brothers, John T. (Becky Jo) Miller, Mt. Washington, KY, Tommy Miller, Brandenburg, KY; a sister, Becky (Russell) Waddle, Brandenburg, KY; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, from the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Sego, officiating.  Burial will follow in Cap Anderson Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, 9-8 PM on Wednesday, and after 9:00 AM on Thursday.

Mr. Jack Aloysius King, age 88, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, in Elizabethtown, KY.  Mr. King was retired from Olin Chemical Company, as well as, the Soil Conservation District; a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church; and an avid University of Kentucky fan.

Mr. King was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Elaine King, his parents, Aloysius Eugene "A.E." and Nona Elizabeth Heavrin King,  and a sister, Kay Pierce.  He is survived by his wife, Linda Moorman King, Brandenburg, KY; three children, Mary Annette King, David Edward King, both of Brandenburg, KY, Michael Aloysius King, Elizabethtown, KY; five grandchildren, Daniel (Caitlin) King, Stephanie (Chris) Bissell, Laura (Teague) Ridge, Samuel King, and Sarah King; four great grandchildren, Zachary Bissell, Talin Ridge, Logan Bissell and Nanette Ridge; six brothers and sisters, Howard King, Maurice King, Joyce Carrico, Dorsey King, Lyn Seymour, Kelly King; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. William Nolan "Bill" Veltheim, age 56, of Guston, KY, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in Indianapolis, IN.  Mr. Veltheim was the former Healthcare Administrator for Springview Nursing Home, Adventist Healthcare, in Leitchfield, KY.

Mr. Veltheim was preceded in death by his father, William Nolan McKenzie; his mother-in-law, Hilda Begley; and his granddaughter, Delaney Rose Moos.  He is survived by his wife, Paula Begley Veltheim, Guston, KY; a son, CPO William Bradley Veltheim, USCG, Virginia Beach, VA, and his wife Jessica Rochelle Veltheim; a daughter, Jessica Ann Moos, Ft. Campbell, KY, and her husband, SGT Robert Warren Moos, USA; four grandchildren, Brieanne Darlyn Veltheim, Nolan Ware Moos, McKenzie Ruth Moos, Abel Robert Moos; his mother, Elena Veltheim, Plant City, FL; his sister, Linda Veltheim, Clyde, NC; his brother, David Veltheim, Mt. Juliet, TN; his father-in-law, Paul Begley, Brandenburg, KY; and his brother-in-law, Linn Begley, Brandenburg, KY.
