Anyone who was a member of the Armed Services at the time of their death or who was honorably discharged after service is eligible for benefits. This will include a flag and grave marker. In some instances there are more benefits. These may include an allowance for purchasing of grave space, burial in a veterans cemetery or a widows pension. You will need a copy of the veterans discharge papers (DD214) to file a claim.
