Powers-Priebe Funeral Homes provides a wide selection of caskets to meet the needs of the families we serve.
Caskets are primarily constructed of two materials, either wood or metal. The finest metals are made of bronze; following
bronze in quality is copper, then stainless steel and then regular steel. Regular steel caskets are further divided
into gauges: 16, 18, and 20 gauge. 16 gauge is the heaviest with 20 gauge being the lightest. All of the caskets on display
are protective caskets which means they seal. Wood caskets may be made from Oak, Walnut, Cherry, Poplar and other types of
woods. Wood caskets on display are non-protective caskets that do not seal. We also offer a variety of outer burial containers.
These are often referred to as burial vaults. We offer concrete vaults and steel vaults. Although not required by law, most
cemeteries require the use of a burial vault.
