IN MEMORY OF:
Rhonda Baker Kennedy

Rhonda Baker Kennedy, age 57 of Garfield, KY died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Hazard, KY on September 9, 1956. Rhonda, along with her boss and friend Thomas Neal Hicks, operated Breckinridge Inn for 21 years. During that time, she met many people, some who remained friends over the years, and provided them with a home away from home. Upon her retirement, she began traveling with Darryl across the country to his many job sites. She enjoyed quilting, reading, gardening and staying busy. She would never leave a job to be done the next day. Rhonda was a caregiver to many, including her mother, sister and aunt. She was a wonderful friend with an infectious smile that would make you feel special.

Wednesday, 9-3-2014 at 11 AM. with Rev. Jeff McMichael officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, 4-8 PM and Wednesday after 8 AM.

Edmund Allen "Eddie" Wilson

Edmund Allen "Eddie" Wilson, age 67 of Harned, Ky died Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born in Breckinridge County on August 24, 1947, the son of the late Allen H. and Jean Mercer Wilson. Eddie was a retired heavy equipment operator and enjoyed fishing, reading and riding horses. He was a former State Champion Barrel Racer.

IN MEMORY OF:
Violet Ann Pate

Violet Ann Pate, age 74 of Hardinsburg, KY died Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital.She was born in Westview, KY on January 15, 1940, the daughter of the Alvin David and Hallie Drane Patterson. Violet was a retired teacher in the Breckinridge County School system having started her career at Irvington Elementary School and ending at Hardinsburg Elementary School. She was a member of Breckinridge County Retired Teachers and Kentucky Education Association. Violet was very active at Corinth Baptist Church and was a member of Breckinridge County and Rough River Homemakers.

She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, boating and loved animals. She stated that she would be the "Caregiver of Animals in Heaven". Violet was a very caring lady with a big heart. She always thought of and put others before herself.

George Burns Hardin

George Burns Hardin, age 65 of Kingswood, KY died Monday, August 25, 2014. He was born in Breckinridge County, KY on March 31, 1949, the son of the late William Celian Hardin and Hazel Frank Henninger Hardin. George retired from National Linen Service,  was a volunteer for Community Action Services and the Salvation Army.

He was a very active member of Kingswood Wesleyan Church where he served on the church board and prepared meals for the children on Wednesday evenings.

George enjoyed swimming, fishing, hunting, taxidermy, writing poetry and music and playing the guitar. He loved Bluegrass music.

He was preceded in death by his wife Darlene Ross Hardin

David Sipes

David Sipes, age 46 of McQuady, KY died Saturday, August 23, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Elizabethtown,KY on October 29, 1967. David was a former employee of a commercial construction business, a member of Grayson County Moose Lodge and an associate member of Falls of Rough VFW. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being with his friends and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his Dad - Pete Moore and his grandparents - Omer and Ruth Sipes.

David is survived his mother - Lougene Moore of McQuady, KY, aunts, uncles and cousins including Anna and Dale Brangers, Garry and Mary Sipes, Bonnie and Mike Ponder.  Special friend - Teresa Musick

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11 AM. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.

Linda Ann Flood Carwile

Linda Ann Flood Carwile, age 63 of Westview, KY died Thursday, August 21, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Breckinridge County on June 18, 1951, the daughter of the late Bernard Jolly Flood and Frances Marie Alexander Flood. Linda was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church, the church choir, the Blue Army and St. Romuald Class of 1969. Linda was instrumental in forming and leading a team from St. Romuald to participate in the Relay for Life. She was a wonderful seamstress and shared her talent with several schools by making costumes for the BCHS and Kentucky Wesleyan College Madrigals, cheerleader uniforms for Brescia University and many of the county schools.  Her family enjoyed many meals prepared by such a great cook whether it be at her home or by the campfire.

She was preceded in death by her niece and nephew: Heather LeGendre and Ben Laslie.

Edna Catherine "Susie" Russell, age 63 of Harned, Ky died Wednesday, 8-20-2014 at her residence. She was born in Harned, KY on January 20, 1951, the daughter of the late Raymond and Edna Decker Butler.

She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and played the role of Mary for many years in the Christmas program. Susie enjoyed collecting Barbie dolls, jewelry and anything Elvis. She loved to go to rummage sales, dine out, watch TV, go camping, boating and 4 wheeling.

Benjamin Ray Coffman, Sr.

Benjamin Ray Coffman, Sr. age 70 of McDaniels, KY died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Louisville, KY on March 17, 1944, the son of the late Garland Ray Coffman, Sr. and Mary Mildred Dawson Coffman.

He retired from Nibco Piping and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Fairdale, KY and the Bluegrass Bass Club.  Ben enjoyed fishing, woodworking and crafts, construction of all types and was known for having the most manicured yard in the neighborhood.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter – Karah Macy Coffman

Paul Leon Lawson, age 88 of Hardinsburg, KY died Friday, August 15, 2014 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lebanon, KY on August 17, 1925, the son of the late George and Ida Pearl Hays Lawson. He was a retired member of Local Union 669, a WWII Air Force veteran,member of the American Legion, member of Hardinsburg United Methodist Church, a Mason for over 50 years and a member of Hardinsburg Masonic Lodge #67. Paul enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing ROOK, but above all, he loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his daughter - Teri Miller

Bettye Moorman, age 83 of Hardinsburg, KY died Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was born in Glen Dean, KY on August 8, 1930, the daughter of the late Henry "Achie" and Sallye Mattingly Burnett.
 
Bettye and her husband Robert were former owners of the Little Flower and Gift Shop in Hardinsburg, KY and retired in 1996 after 42 years of service.  She was a member of Hardinsburg United Methodist Church, Vitula Daniel Circle and Breckinridge County Historical Society. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and watching Hallmark movies.

She was preceded in death by her grandson: Nathan Robinson

She was born in Grayson County, KY on August 10, 1930  the daughter of the late Robert and Rhea Manion Hack. She retired from Queen Products, was a former member of Breckirnidge County Moose Lodge and a Kentucky Colonel. Mrs. Raymer enjoyed reading.

William Donald Patton, Jr. age 65 of Custer, Ky died Thursday, 7-24-2014 at his residence. He was born in Nashville, TN on June 26, 1949. Donald was a retired truck driver and former member of Green Ridge Church of Christ in Greenbrier, TN. He enjoyed working outdoors and was an excellent cook.

His mother, Edith Marie Jennings Patton preceded him in death.

He was born in Breckinridge County, KY on October 15, 1945, the son of the late Oliver Fenwick and Hester Ann Powell. Leroy was a former employee of Cobble Concrete and a farmer. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Lloyd G. Russell, age 98 of Harned, KY died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Brownsville, KY on October 15, 1915, the son of the late Irvin and Linnie VanMeter Russell. He was an antique dealer who enjoyed gardening and antique cars. He attended Bethel Fellowship Church.

Herman Franklin Bruner

Herman Franklin Bruner, age 92 of Garfield, KY died Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born in Garfield, KY on February 22, 1922, the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Nellie Morris Bruner. Mr. Bruner enjoyed his work as a farmer and attended Custer United Methodist Church. He was a WWII Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Pearl Robinson, Lucy Jackel, Matilda Marr, Katherine Basham, Billy Bruner and Ralph Bruner.

Pamela Jo Coffey, age 60 of Westview, KY died Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. She was born in Louisville, KY on June 16, 1954.

Prior to her illness, she was an equipment operator for Inland Containers. She was a former member of the Red Devils Motorcycle Club, enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, flower gardening and watching her two favorite television shows: The Deadliest Catch and QVC.

She was preceded in death by her father - John R. Coffey and her sister - Vickie Coffey.
 
She is survived by her mother - Shirley Coffey of Westview, KY

John Albert Robinson, age 81 of Versailles, KY died on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Thomson Hood Veterans Center. He was born in Harned, KY on July 20, 1932,  the son of the late David E. and Lucy K. Dowell Robinson.

John Albert was a trainer of saddlebred and thoroughbred horses. He worked for former Governor, Brereton Jones, as well as, Jim B. Robertson Saddlehorse Farm.He was an Army veteran of the Korean War era, was a member of  Harned United Methodist Church and was a member of the South Central Hackney Pony Association.

He was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Donald, Mose, Earl and Darrell.

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 12 PM with Bro. Joe Nottingham officiating. Burial will be in the Kingswood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 AM on Saturday.

Glenda A. Hinton Wright

Glenda A. Hinton Wright, age 71 of Hardinsburg, Ky passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in Prospect, KY. She was born on December 16, 1942 the daughter of the late Carl and Anne Finney. Glenda retired from Rough River State Park where she was manager of the gift shop. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her loving family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roger Lee Wright.

Glenda is survived by her sons: William Brian Hinton and his wife Lisa of Peoria, AZ
Kevin L. Hinton and his wife Dianna of Prospect, KY
2 grandchildren: Alex and Olivia Hinton

A memorial service will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Friday, 7-11-2014 at 7 PM. Visitation will begin at 3:30 PM on Friday.

Delbert Lee Carter

Delbert Lee Carter, age 80 died at his home in Lodiburg, KY on Sunday, July 6, 2014.

He was born in Breckinridge County, KY on February 2, 1934, the son of the late Estill Hayden Carter and Ada Mae Basham Carter. He lived in various locations in the county untill settling in Lodiburg for the past 48 years. He worked continously throughtout his life providing for his family.

 
In 1973, his son Freddie joined him forming a partnership in the logging and sawmill business, which later became Carter Sawmill, Inc. and included his other son Kevin. Carter Sawmill, Inc. has been family driven over the years including his grandchildren Keith, Nicholas, Anthony and other relatives over time.

Some of his hobbies and interests included watching his great grandchildren play at his feet, fishing, woodworking and going to auctions/sales and never buying anything. He was also a life long wrestling fan and thoroughly enjoyed Monday night wrestling.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, 11 months and 6 days - Thelma Lavern Basham Carter of Lodiburg, KY

He was preceded in death by 6 siblings: Lester Frank Carter, Richard Eugene Carter, Evis Earl Carter, Harold J Carter, Elizabeth Lucille Carter Brown and Juanita Helen Carter Basham.

Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Wednesday, 7-9-2014 at 1 PM with Rev. Charles Meredith officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday, 4-8 PM and Wednesday after 8:30 AM.

Susan Monarch Blair Williams

Susan Monarch Blair Williams, age 42 of Prospect, KY died Sunday, July 6, 2014 at her residence. She was born in Hardinsburg, KY on April 18, 1972.

Susan was a member of River Valley Christian Church where she also served as church secretary. She was the former director of the before and after school program and summer program at Landsdowne Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lexington, KY. Susan volunteered many hours at her daughter's school. She often helped by preparing meals at A Woman's Choice Resource Center and Necole's Place. She was an avid U of K Wildcat fan and attended many SEC tournaments with her husband.

As busy as she was, Susan always had time for her family and enjoyed doing things for them and with them. She spent time baking, cooking and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers: Jack Monarch and Stanley Blair.

Funeral services will be held at Hardinsburg Baptist Church on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 11 AM CDT with Rev. Steve Idle and Rev. Barry Clark officiating. Burial will be in the Harned Cemetery. Visitation at the church on Wednesday, 4-8 PM CDT and after 9 AM CDT Thursday under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home.
